e-Communcation Reflection:

In Graphic Design, we learned many skills using Photoshop, Illustrator, and Indesign. Some of the projects that we had worked on did take some time to do. The projects had gotten easier the more we learned how to do some of the steps. It would usually take me some extra few days to finish the project completely. We learned how to paint in Photoshop, create magazines in Indesign, create postcards and business cards, just to name a few.

I had learned some of the skills by looking at some tutorials online and asking for help. I had the help of having Adobe at my house so that I can practice there. I also had gotten help from Lofquist while in class. She would show me a way to do the project and then after I would teach myself the same thing.

The importance to learn the things that we do in Graphic Design is so that we can use these skills in the future if we keep doing this. I believe that I will use this skills in the future and know that I had learned all of the important stuff from this class. I hopefully will get a career that I can teach other people all of the important stuff that I learned.

My strengths in Graphic Design would have to be I am able to know when something is needing to be fixed and when something is completed. It usually takes me a while to know when one of my projects is done, but when it's done I am proud of what I have done. My weakness is that it takes me so long to get anything done. I take so long to just complete one projects that we have already started another.

With all of the stuff that I learned, I will be using it for my future. I can use all of the stuff that I learned in California so that I won't forget all of the stuff that I was taught. I would like to use all of that information so that I can become a Graphic Designer in my near future. I could hopefully see that I have remembered some if not all of the things we learned.

I would like to see use take more time with what we are learning. I believe that we rushed through so many things and didn't fully take the time to get all of the information into our heads. I would like to see all of the stuff we learned take more time and develop more of basics again.

Over all, this year was actually a really good year with all of the projects. I had a really good time with my class and with some of the projects that we had completed. My favorite projects I would have to say is the movie poster. I was able to show some of the things that I learned and create it into the movie aspects 

Package Design

 Package Design:
This is Alayna and I's package design. I created the logo which is of mountains and Alayna had made the color palette and we were going for colors that were pastel.








This is the pattern that Alayna created while I was gone. She had used a tutorial and Adobe Illustrator. 

This is the end result of the package design. The product is supplements that change the mood of what you are feeling.

The type of box we were going towards was the type of shoe box like the box example here. We added our own photo and colors and had the toy be some sort of puzzle that will match up to another picture of the puzzle in the box.

Individual Focus

 Individual Focus:

For my individual focus, I created a design of a book cover using Adobe Illustrator. I had used a tutorial online for the compass rose that is on the cover and the spine of the book. It didn't take long for me to make. The gradient was used for the compass rose to show what the main focus of the story is. 

Photo Composition Site

Here is my photo composition site where I have uploaded some photos and wrote about the specifics of photo composition. The photos that I had taken were taken from some of the rules of photo composition and I had taken the photos during spring break around my neighborhood. The banner was created on Adobe Illustrator and I had used the colors from the banner and applied it to my website. On the different windows you can see the definition of the rules, how to improve your image and tips for using the rule.

Vector Illustration

The artwork I created was from a tutorial that I found on YouTube and it was to create a fun vector illustration using the pen tool in Adobe Illustrator. I got a color palette from COLOUR Lovers and I then followed the tutorial and it gave me this type of design. I kinda followed the outlook, but then put my twist on it.

ONW Mockup

ONW Mockup:

This project concept was to take a screenshot of another website and try to make the ONW website in the form of the screenshot website. We had put the screenshot and ONW website and created it on Adobe Illustrator. The next few steps were to create the ONW website and add photos and make the page look as if its the actual website online. The colors I had used were the ONW colors and then I had added some ONW photos that show that the site contributes with the school.





Past, Present, Future

Past, Present, Future Website:

In Web Design, we had created a past, present, and future website that shows off our life story. we had used Adobe Dreamweaver and created a four page website. The colors I had chosen were a gradient blue and a light blue, because blue is my favorite color. The tabs and my name has a rollover that we had created also using Adobe Illustrator. The website was then transferred over to Dreamweaver to created the pages.

Movie Poster

Movie Poster:

The story behind making my movie poster be about Titanic was to show off one of the biggest climaxes from the movie. This design is of the ship just about to hit the iceberg. I had used Adobe Illustrator to create this poster and with inspiration from Saul Bass we were to use three simple colors and show off either the more main parts of the movie or the story behind the movie. I had used three colors of: red, blue, and yellow. These three colors had been used for the ship, the water, and the dark sky. The ship had taken some time with creating a, somewhat, similar ship of the Titanic and the iceberg was made by using a Pen Tool and adjusting the right formations of the edges. I had then used a opacity of a Rectangle Tool to show the bottom part of the iceberg and ship to show where the iceberg would come in contact with the ship. I had a great time with creating this poster, because I know that I had wanted to show off some great concepts from class.

Business Card

Business Card:

The idea that came to my mind for this business card was to show off the lighter, more detail side of myself. The pattern I had chosen for the card actually didn't take me that long to design in Adobe Illustrator. From some experience with Adobe, I had created the pattern using the ellipse tool and the effects panel. The color scheme of the type and the pattern was from another card I had seen on one of the websites we were getting inspiration from that shows off different business cards. The other side of the card has my basic information and on the top right is my logo design that I had also created on Adobe Illustrator.

The type of logo I had wanted to created was going to be represented to show that I am somewhat whole, but I also have an edgy, weird side towards me. The colors I have chosen were blue because it's my favorite color and blue shows that I have a personality that shows off my emotion. 

The first logo on the right is just a very simple circle shape of triangles that go from dark blue to light blue. I also added my initials EB in the center so that they know what the logo is about.

These masks were made on Adobe Photoshop using layers and clipping masks. For the girl swinging we had used a gradient to and drag it across the girls face. For the YouTube image, I had used the clipping mask to place the photos behind. For the Scuba, I had duplicated the scuba image and used text.

Using Adobe Illustrator and following a tutorial on Youtube, I have created this logo for Motion. I had used the square tool and had triangles put inside the shape. From there I used the reflect and rotate tool and deleted some triangles to make a M for Motion and had added the colors. 

Floating Mountain

This is my floating mountain that I had created on Adobe Photoshop. I had taken this mountain from another image and had added it on to a sky image. I had also added two other objects that will blend into the image. 

Original Painting

Land of Green

This painting is of a tree surrounded by a dark, gloomy blue sky and miles of green grass. I had created this painting in Adobe Photoshop using the Dry Brush and Wet Brush. The idea was to paint on a photo using the brush tools using the same colors and blending the colors. 

Palm Tree Shadow

The shadow I have created is of a palm tree. I had created the shadow using Adobe Photoshop. First I had duplicated the palm tree then used a gradient that went from dark to light from the base of the palm tree.  

Pattern

The inspiration of my pattern came from a tutorial that I had found on Youtube that showed how to duplicate an object around a circle. I had gone for just a simple radial circle that shows the "whole" person my personality show. The triangles would represent the "edgy" side of me like spikes.

Motif

The motif I had come up with was some form of a bullseye that has something like an explosion in the background. I had used the ellipse tool on Illustrator and had expanded the ellipse to make the explosion. The bullseye was just a simple circle that would be getting smaller towards the center.

2 Things That Go Together

Two things that I had seen that were similar were a dialog clock and a digital clock. Both of them show time, but in different ways. I had thought of the idea because whenever we are in school all we do is look at the time to see when school ends. I had also created the time from the date of my best friends birthday.
